fill in the following competitive vacancies available in her manning level.

1.PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER I (One Post)

    Scope of the position and its expected outputs.
This position is responsible for the Authority’s external communications. The job holder advises the Managing Director on all matters pertaining to the public image of the Authority and on all issues occurring that might affect the Authority and its public standing. The outputs of this position are therefore reflected in the image of the Authority amongst key stakeholders in the country.
Key duties and responsibilities
  • Manages the public relations function in the Authority by formulating short and long term work programmes for enhancing the image of the Authority amongst the public, and ensures that such programmes are implemented;
  • Provides the Managing Director with advice on all matters relating to the public image of the Authority and on its social responsibilities;
  • Takes measures to promote the standing of the Authority and to develop a positive image amongst members of the public, and in particular amongst key opinion leaders and stakeholders;
  • Maintains close liaison with members of the press to ensure that the press is aware of the work of the Authority and has a positive attitude towards the Authority;
  • Responds to requests for information from members of the public and ensures that correct information is given to the public – always keeping in mind that the Authority’s spokesperson is the Managing Director;
  • Helps Departments and other units of the Authority in publicising their work and ensuring that a proper image of the Authority is projected at all times;
  • Attends to matters of protocol in all events in which the Authority is engaged;
  • Maintains a library containing materials on various events that have historical significance to the Authority;
  • Prepares periodic reports outlining current trends in the stature of the Authority vis-à-vis its key stakeholders and the results of the public relations activities;
  • Performs such other related duties as may be assigned by the Managing Director from time to time
 Qualifications:
The holder of this position must have the following:
1. A Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in Mass Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing/Business Management. Post- graduate qualifications in journalism or management will be an added advantage.
2. Must be computer literate.
3. Must have an experience of at least three years working in
a reputable business entity since graduation.

Scope of the position and its expected outputs:
The holder of this position carries out operational functions in the water network Section in accordance with set procedures and systems. The outputs of this position are therefore reflected in the quality of maintenance works and effectiveness of the distribution system.
Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Performs all activities related to water network management – regularly inspecting and testing the network, carrying out maintenance activities, repairing break-downs, and generally ensuring that the network is in sound conditions at all times;
  • Compiles and analyses bulk meter readings and functioning of other water network infrastructures;
  • Monitors the flow of water in the network and advises the Water Network Engineer of any trends that might impinge on the proper working of the network;
  • Investigates breakdowns in the network and proposes effective measures for repair;
  • Assigns and supervises the daily activities of the water network Artisans
  • Investigates cases of sabotages/misuses of water network infrastructures, and advises the Water Network Engineer accordingly;
  • Keeps proper records of all tools and equipment used in the management of the network, and takes measures to ensure the safekeeping of all such tools and equipment;
  • Comply with ISO requirements on the daily activities
  • Performs such other related duties as may be assigned by the Water Network Engineer from time to time.
Person specification:
The holder of this position must have the following:
      •  Full Technician Certificate/Diploma in Civil/Water Resources Engineering.
      •  Computer literate and good command of AutoCAD or related software application.
      •   Experience of at least two years working in a reputable business entity since graduation.
