Our client is a fresh entrant to the East African market, supported by Hewlett Packard and proven experience captured in the Middle East market. It has targeted East
Africa as a bright and ready market poised to take on innovative technology and tools. Our client is now looking to expand its management team, and develop a strong footprint with the East African Community.
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Managing Director, the incumbent will be responsible for the direct distribution, sales, training and providing solutions of Company’s product lines and services to customers, end/users and key corporate accounts in Tanzania. This will involve coordinating sales distribution by establishing sales territories, targets and goals, and include providing innovative solutions and training to customer’s unique or complex requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Contribute to Sales Budget preparation and oversee Budget within the Tanzanian region, ensuring targets and front margins are achieved within established timeframes.
  • Contribute to sales strategies and product positioning to remain competitive and responsive to changing and unique needs of end-users.
  • Direct and coordinate activities involving sales of products, training, services, etc. in conjunction with trainers, facilitators and management, as required.
  • Consolidate and analyze sales statistics from sales reps to determine sales potential, dips and inventory requirements.
  • Monitor end-user preferences, requirements and competition to determine focus of sales efforts.
  • Liaise and collaborate with vendors & suppliers to ensure expectations and commitments are effective met.
  • Oversee sales staff, including but not limited to, work activities, setting targets & quotas, training & mentorship, monitoring and managing performance against expectations.
  • Engage in sales staff recruitment (as established by business plan and budgets) and activities as required including new hire orientation, ongoing product and customer service training, and performance evaluations.
  • Executive and implement according to corporate and project plan strategies
  • Resolve or escalate as appropriate end-user issues and complaints.
  • Handling key accounts (Government, Private, Multinationals, SMBs)

ACADEMICS | QUALIFICATIONS | SKILLS | EXPERIENCE
ACADEMICS | EDUCATION
  • Degree in Marketing or Business Administration, or MBA. Alternate Degree with relevant work exposure in Sales, Marketing and/or Business Development will be considered.

B. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
  • Atleast 3+ years of experience in a Sales and Business Development role within the end-user segment, with exposure to managing budget and sales targets.
  • IT experience is preferred, but not compulsory.
  • Market Intelligence | Ghost Research of competition and emerging trends.
  • Sales and Marketing -- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling service offerings. This includes customer segmentation, marketing strategy and tactics, sales techniques.
  • Customer Service – Customer-centric. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing quality customer services.  Business Development | Negotiation: Strong ability to effectively negotiate, communicate and influence.
  • Technology -- Demonstrated technological competence, including the ability to research, e-network, making optimal use of available and new information systems. Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite with advanced Word/Excel skills software;
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English and Swahili languages are a must.
