Restless Development is the national banner carrier for youth-led
development. We’ve been in Tanzania since 1993, growing, changing and
responding to the most urgent issues facing young Tanzanians.
The Young Reporters Network (YRN) falls under the Mabinti Tushike
Hatamu(MTH) project delivered in partnership with UNICEF and Tanzania
AIDS Commission, and implemented in Mbeya, Iringa and Temeke. MTH aims
to test, evaluate and share strategies for reducing the vulnerability of
adolescent out-of-school females aged 10-19 to HIV and AIDS, pregnancy
and violence.
Working alongside the MTH project teams, you will support the YRN to
grow in Mbeya. You will focus on educating, training, and mentoring the
young women and girls in radio reporting, writing, editing and
production of children’s programmes and mediated radio products. You
will provide young girl reporters with basic journalism skills; and
increase active participation of children and young people in the
production of children’s programmes in the districts.
You will support MTH volunteers to mobilize children to identify issues
affecting them, and gather information and stories for broadcasting on
community radio stations; Nuru FM (Iringa) and Generation (Mbeya).
Are you an ambitious, self-driven, experienced young professional who is
ready to be challenged? Are you ready to push yourself and maximize
your potential? If so, Restless Development Tanzania is looking for YOU!
